Sheik T. Mathis El, Teacher for Grades K-12 and Assistant Secretary/Treasurer of Moorish Science Temple 77
Sheik T. Mathis El was born in Erie, Pennsylvania in 1976 and bred in Detroit, Michigan. He graduated from Bishop Borgess High School in 1994, then attended the liberal arts college, Marygrove, with a major in midi music production and journalism. He also had a short study at Michigan State University, becoming a radio personality on 89FM’s Hip Hop specialty show “The Cultural Vibe”. Bro. T. Mathis El has been internationally renown for being a Producer/MC/DJ under the moniker TaRaach, where he produced or featured for the likes of J Dilla, Erykah Badu, Carl Craig, Waajeed, SA-RA Creative Partners, Etc. He has taught Social Studies and Sciences at the Amana Institute Homeschool since 2015. He also became a member of The Moorish Science Temple of America, Temple No. 77, beginning in June of 2020. Sheik T. Mathis El was recently appointed to the station of Adept of the Moorish Divine National Movement and Sheik, Assistant Secretary and Treasurer, at Grand Temple No. 77.
