Sis. N. Limar El began working as an educator in 2000, teaching art, literature, drama and film throughout South Los Angeles, Inglewood, Watts and Oakland. From 2001-2005 she worked as the Artistic Director and Program Director of an Arts Non-Profit, Equal Opportunity Productions. In addition to teaching, she created international programming and cultural exchanges with young artists from South Africa, directing productions that premiered at the Apollo Theater in New York and at The Market Theater in Johannesburg. Trained as a conflict resolution mediator, she integrated skills of peace keeping and community building into her work in the classroom. Alongside her husband, she teaches her family’s four children, ages 2-11, with a focus on literature based learning, strong mental mathematics, performing arts and nature. She holds a Bachelors of Arts degree from the University of California, Los Angeles.
